Levittown Man Charged With Having Child Pornography

May 13, 2023

FALLS TOWNSHIP, PA —A Levittown man has been charged with possession of child pornography after telling Falls Township Police that he downloaded images off a website.

Richard John Anderson, 37, of Levittown, was charged with possession of child pornography and the sexual abuse of children through the dissemination of pictures and videos, the Falls Township Police Department said.

Anderson was preliminarily arraigned by District Judge Terry Hughes Wednesday afternoon with bail set at $100,000.00 unsecured.

The judge also placed conditions on Anderson, including no contact with any minors, and that contact with his children must be under supervision. Anderson must also follow Children and Youth's safety plan, stay at his mother's address, and have no internet use.

On Thursday, Falls Township Police Detective Ronald MacPherson and other police officers executed search warrants on Richard Anderson and H&R block.

The warrants were executed at 153 Levittown Parkway in Levittown, where MacPherson found a blue Apple iPhone 14 in a black silicone case in Anderson's left pocket.

MacPherson later searched the phone's contents and found numerous saved images which depict child pornography and prohibited sexual acts.

Police noted three of those images:

Anderson admitted to police that he went on a sex website which he said, "definitely some stuff" was questionable at best, such as kids.

The age ranges were usually teenagers from what Anderson reported viewing. Most of the time they are clothed, sometimes they are not. Sometimes, they are performing sexual acts, according to the affidavit.

MacPherson asked how he would get a video and Anderson said it was probably sent through the website. From the website, he would communicate with other people in the chat room.

MacPherson asked whether Anderson would exchange pornography or trade with people and Anderson said, "A little bit yeah."

MacPherson asked if any were teenagers and Anderson replied, "No." MacPherson asked if they were the people in question at least and he responded, "Maybe."

Anderson told police that he would upload the files stored on his phone onto the website.

During the interview, MacPherson went through photos on Anderson's phone. There were numerous photographs of what appeared to be prepubescent females (in their early teenage years). Anderson told police that he is sexually attracted to underage females.

Forensic analysis of the phone and other storage media and electronic devices seized during the search warrant is ongoing, police said.
