Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India opens BigWing in Panvel, Maharashtra, ET Auto

It will be an exclusive one-stop sales and service center for Honda big bikes, the company said.

In July, Hero MotoCorp will introduce its first motorcycle developed in collaboration with Harley Davidson. It is slated to be among the most affordable products from the stable of the cult American bike maker. Also on the cards are the next generation KTM 390 Duke from the house of Bajaj, Aprilia RS 440, Yamaha MT-03 and YZF-R3.

FADA says that this intervention is aimed at making two-wheelers more affordable, reviving demand and reinvigorating the 2W industry which, as per the association, has seen significant 'slump' in sales over the past few years.

The best-selling motorcycle, Hero Splendor, sold 2,65,225 units In April 2023 with a 13.3% YoY growth. Honda Activa retained the second spot, with 2,46,016 units registering a YoY growth of 50.6%.

Two-wheelers being introduced now will be compatible with 20% blended ethanol fuel. Senior executives of Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India said that technology advancements have been made by the industry to handle the increased ethanol content in the fuel.
