Is this the product that will protect cyclists and e-scooter riders? - The Jerusalem Post
Autotalks, a global leader in Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) communication solutions based in Kfar Netter, Israel, has unveiled a new line of products aimed at protecting vulnerable road users. This product line seeks to reduce the number of accidents involving cyclists and e-scooter riders, addressing a critical issue—75% of these accidents occur because drivers fail to notice riders.
The TEKTON3-BIKE is the third generation of Autotalks’ chipset, specifically adapted to tackle the challenges faced by cyclists and e-scooter riders. This innovative line enables bicycle manufacturers to offer customers advanced accident prevention technology, minimizing development efforts and reducing costs. The chipset includes software that provides warnings in situations such as potential collisions at intersections and rear-end dangers, all while supporting global standards.
Building on the TEKTON3-BIKE chipset, Autotalks is also launching ZooZ3, the third-generation safety device for cyclists, which can be easily mounted on a bicycle’s handlebars to provide real-time hazard alerts. ZooZ3 is intended for wide-scale pilot programs and as a sample design. Additionally, users can download the ZooZ mobile app, allowing cyclists to receive real-time alerts on their phone screens and respond swiftly to road hazards. The V2X app connects with dedicated bike devices equipped with the TEKTON3-BIKE chipset.
Hagai Zyss, CEO of Autotalks, stated, “We’re excited to present our solutions for cyclist and e-scooter rider protection based on our third-generation chipset. Achieving zero accidents is only possible if we also protect these riders. That’s why we integrate them into the V2X network and developed a line of ready-to-deploy products tailored to their needs at an attractive price.”
Autotalks is helping to reduce road accidents and improve traffic flow through its chipset solutions. V2X technology is the only vehicle sensor capable of detecting hidden vehicles or road users, even around corners or behind obstacles, in severe weather or low-light conditions. This technology significantly enhances road safety by connecting conventional vehicles, autonomous cars, motorcycles, and pedestrians.
Autotalks recently launched its third-generation chipset, the only one supporting 5G-V2X communication, even alongside traditional DSRC communication. This new chipset paves the way for future V2X capabilities, including automatic braking based on V2X and advanced Day2 applications. Due to these capabilities, Autotalks has been selected as a supplier for mass production platforms of 14 vehicle manufacturers (OEMs) and one e-bike company, resulting in contracts that have generated a multi-million-dollar order backlog.
